Where do you want to go?
Assignment Background
This lecture introduced us to the use cases of lo, mid, and hi-fidelity wireframes and their purpose in the UX Design process. During this class, we worked off a prompt given by our instructor followed by requested changes in order to generate numerous iterations of a wireframe to mimic how stakeholders and developers change the product.
Finally, our cohort was also taught the importance of variants and documentation to help developers in using the wireframes.
Assignment Task
This assignment (All Foundations of UX Design assignments) involved me and two other students working on the Expedia mobile app. Our task required us to create and finalize a set of wireframes of any fidelity.
We chose to generate hi-fidelity wireframes because our problem did not require a complete visual redesign of the product.
What was a difficult challenge you faced during the assignment?
Our group included a variety of experience levels in design - with one member having no experience in UX Design. Initially, we couldn't make progress due to different visions in how to solve the problem we discovered based on our experience level. We approached this problem by having each other conduct in-depth analysis of each other's wireframes to understand each other's approach and combined the best aspects of our wireframes later on.
Feedback and Learnings
Design with an open mind
Giving and receiving constructive criticism is crucial, and it's important not to take the criticisms personally to build better products while not letting your ego get in the way.
